Meanwhile SSL established itself to be the standard browser encryption.
WMT uses this standard for all processes where privacy is going to be passed to us.
Starting with your log on, every page will be SSL encrypted.
SSL - How do I recognize SSL encrypted WebPages?
Sensitive data (such as Credit Card information) should be transmitted encrypted.
Your browser features SSL, SSL allows a save network connection between the server and you browser.
SSL stands for Secure Socket Layer and was developed from Netscape and RSA Data Security.
The SSL protocol ensures that sensitive data cannot be read or manipulated
and that the identity of a webpage keeps the same. Besides the Internet Explorer also other browsers like
Netscape Navigator, Opera or Mozilla support the SSL protocol
SSL is going to be initialize if there will be an s ((=secure) added to the known http.
The internet address would be like: https://www.wmtonline.eu
With every call of a https- page, the browser checks if the website does have a valid SSL-certificate.
If not, the browser is going to warn with a notification like: "This website cannot be verified as save.
Would you really like to go on?"

If such an information appears you should think about whether you go on or not, because the certificate
is unknown or expired.
Technically SSL works this way:
Because of the "https" your browser recognizes that he should request a certificate from the server.
To send back a certificate, first of all the server must receive it from a certification center.
Afterwards the server hands this certificate directly over to the browser, the browser is going to
make a request to the certification center if the certificate is still actual.
On this basis the browser is able to prove if he is really connected to the server that is shown at the URL.
In case of a connection, the browser gives back an information
If you use the Internet Explorer or Firefox, it is going to be showed with a closed U-lock.
